Councillor Darrell Mawle at Possible Pedestrian Crossing Location

Following discussions with Rawnsley residents, Councillor Mawle is spearheading a campaign to get a pelican crossing on Littleworth Road as close to Happys Convenience Store as highways health & safety rules will permit.

Due to the volume and speeds of traffic along the road residents feel it unacceptable to have to run across the road, when there is a break in the traffic, to preserve life and limb. A petition is available for signatures at Happys Convenience Store and Councillor Mawle will be going door to door in the area to gather more names and support.

Councillor Mawle said," There is no doubt in my mind that there is a definite need for a pedestrian crossing at this location, people of all ages are being put at risk as they attempt to cross this very busy road to get to the shop or bus stop. I would urge the community to support this initiative either by signing the petition or getting in touch with me directly, I can be contacted on 01543 451113 or at darrellmawle@cannockchasedc.gov.uk .
